This matcha is carefully crafted using tea leaves grown organically in Wazuka, Kyoto Prefecture, based on traditional production techniques passed down in Uji.
The cultivar used is Okumidori. As a single-origin matcha made from a single tea garden and a single cultivar, it clearly expresses the unique character of both the land and the variety.
Only tea leaves selected from organically managed fields, and judged to meet our quality standards, are used. No tea leaves from other regions are blended in, resulting in a pure and uncompromised Uji matcha.
It offers the youthful freshness characteristic of first-harvest new tea, complemented by a gentle roasted aroma (ro-kō) from the firing process. The flavour is clean and smooth, with very little bitterness. Suitable for a wide range of uses, including traditional koicha and usucha, authentic matcha lattes, and as a finishing touch in confectionery.
